Bellevue, WA—October 11, 2025. The Association of Washington State Azerbaijanis announced the launch of the first Azerbaijani language school in Washington State on October 11, marking a milestone for the local Azerbaijani diaspora.

The new school, named Ulduz Academy, was established to teach the Azerbaijani language and promote cultural traditions among children growing up outside their ancestral homeland. The program is designed to help young learners maintain a connection to their linguistic and cultural heritage while living in the United States.
Organizers said the academy will focus on language instruction alongside lessons in Azerbaijani history, music, and customs. Classes are intended to create a supportive environment where children can learn, practice, and take pride in their cultural identity.
Community leaders described the opening of Ulduz Academy as an important step in preserving Azerbaijani culture in Washington State and strengthening ties among Azerbaijani families in the region.
