KIRKLAND, Wash.—September 14, 2025. Tatars of Washington State gathered Sunday at Big Finn Hill Park for a community potluck picnic that brought together families and friends for an afternoon of food, music, and dance.

The event, held on September 14, featured a shared potluck meal alongside shishlik prepared by volunteers at the park. Tables filled with homemade dishes as attendees ate together and socialized in the late-summer weather.
Traditional Tatar songs were played on the accordion, providing live music that set the tone for the celebration. As the music continued, participants joined in dancing, turning the picnic area into an informal cultural gathering.
Organizers said the picnic was intended to strengthen community ties and celebrate Tatar heritage in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Participants described the event as a joyful opportunity to share traditions, enjoy music, and connect with one another.
